It was an honour to host Marie Walton-Mahon at DBS on Wednesday 1 April. She guided students 12 years and up through her newly developed program ‘Progressing Ballet Technique’. It proved to be an amazing experience for every student who participated and we are already seeing improvement in their ballet classes.
The program helps students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. The use of the fit balls during many of the exercises gives the students a clear sense of posture and weight placement.
Marie also guided our Intermediate and Advanced students through an open ballet class. The feedback was amazing from the students, they were overloaded with information and look forward to applying everything new they learned in their weekly classes.
It wasn’t just about the students though. Miss Alice and Miss Anna both sat in on the masterclasses and felt they benefitted greatly. Learning exactly how the exercises work from the developer herself. The students will benefit so much from this in their conditioning classes as we use the ‘Progressing Ballet Technique’ with them each week.
