A hot January week brought Dubbo Ballet Studio’s Summer Performing Arts Workshop back for 2016!

What a week it was! This year we had faculty fly in from all over the world! Our 2016 teachers included Stephen Agosto (Musical Theatre, USA), Andrew Sotomayor (Musical Theatre, USA), Emma Canalese (Musical Theatre, USA/Aus), Mitchell Woodcock (Commercial Jazz, AUS), Megan Ibrahim and Peter Sette (Hip-Hop/Acro/Salsa, AUS), Kyle Davey (Ballet, AUS), Charles Bartley (Jazz/Hip-Hop, AUS), Madeline Tratt (Contemporary, AUS)  and Angela Canalese (Flamenco, AUS).

This star studded faculty dove in deep, putting the students through their paces in all kinds of dance genres, as well as testing out their vocals in specialised musical theatre classes, which were an absolute highlight for everyone!

Students who participated danced, sang and acted on average for 8 hours each day for 5 days straight! Ending it all with a fantastic display on day 6, of the work they had learnt during the week! Many parents, friends and family came along to watch the students perform the pieces they had been working so very hard on!

There were many highlights for the students this year! They were very taken with our American visitors Andrew and Stephen as they received some of the best musical theatre classes available to anyone, anywhere in the world! Students were also excited to have DBS regulars Megan and Pete back with their ever popular acro and hip-hop classes, and of course our DBS local, Charles (Charlie) Bartley! A hit in particular with our Junior students!

Thanks to everyone who attended the workshop for 2016! We can’t wait to host the next in 2017!
